This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected during participation in The Bare Minimum Challenge: A Survival Mode Reset for Burnt Out Parents.
1. Information We Collect
When you join the challenge, we may collect the following information:
Contact information: name and email address (via Substack and/or Google Forms).
Challenge submissions: responses, reflections, and photos uploaded through Google Forms.
Payment information: processed securely through Substack. We do not directly collect or store credit card details.
Leaderboard data: points earned and displayed publicly on a shared Google Sheet (first name only or chosen display name).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
Administer and track participation in the challenge.
Calculate points and maintain the leaderboard.
Communicate with participants via Substack posts and email.
Deliver the prize pot to the winning participant.
Improve and evaluate the challenge experience.
3. Photo & Content Submissions
Photos uploaded are used solely for verifying participation and awarding points.
Photos will not be shared publicly without your permission.
Journal reflections may be referenced anonymously in future challenge promotions (e.g., “a participant shared that hydration improved her patience”), but names will not be used without explicit consent.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent participant information.
Data is stored via Substack, Google Forms, and Google Sheets, which have their own privacy practices.
The leaderboard (first names only) may be visible to all participants.
5. Data Security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect your data, including limiting access to Google Forms/Sheets and keeping submissions private. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
6. Participant Responsibility
By joining, you agree to:
Submit only photos and information you are comfortable sharing for verification purposes.
Use respectful language in reflections and submissions.
Protect your own login credentials for Substack and Google accounts.
7. Retention & Deletion
Personal information and submissions will be retained only as long as necessary to administer the challenge.
After the challenge ends, identifying information (photos, form submissions) may be deleted within 60 days.
Participants may request deletion of their information at any time by contacting the organizer.
8. Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be communicated through Substack.
